Jewelled Emerald Accent Side Table in Cast Glass and Brass
About the Item
This jewel-like table in emerald, depicting the gemstone is hand-sculpted kiln-cast glass and wheel polished and later 'set' into metal cast legs, praising each like a precious stone. The crumbled undersurface of the glass tops are a result of a technique developed by Fy-shan Glass Studio, influenced by Onar's earlier expertise in textiles. The visual outcome of different densities of glass form a wave like pattern underneath the glass surface.

Fy-shan Glass Studio located in Pera, Istanbul, was founded by glass artist Felekşan Onar in 2011 with the aim to design and produce limited-edition functional art, sculptural objects lighting and furniture.
Fy-shan Glass Studio collections are inspired by wide range of sources, and also benefits extensively from Feleksan Onar’s artistic career as she continues to show her work not only in Turkey, but also in Dresden, Berlin, London, Stockholm, Venice and New York. Onar’s dedication and focus to glass and her expertise in several techniques including blowing, casting, fusing, lamp-working and cold-working coupled with professional assistance in product design, production and quality management, enhances the timeless creations of Fy-shan Glass Studio. Periodically, Fy-shan Glass Studio introduces updated, innovative and contemporary collections, coupled with excellent craftsmanship, that represent the artistic story behind its creation, .
