Late 19th Century French Louis XV Style Occasional Side Table with Marble Top

About the Item

This gorgeous Louis XV Style pink marble table is made of mahogany and gilt detailing, standing on slender cabriole legs ending with fine brass sabots. The round tabletop is made of a beautiful Fior di Pesco pink marble with hues of grays, pinks, and rusts sourced from Italy. This beautiful piece has an apron decorated with Ormolu mounts and appliques with acanthus leaf reliefs, laurel vines, and a center shell. In addition to the gilt appliqués, the apron and entire silhouette has a brass trim inlay. Louis XV style furniture is known for its elegance, curves, and ornate decoration. Louis XV furniture refers to the style that was popularized during the reign of the eponymous King Louis XV of France. This style of furniture was a reflection of the luxurious lifestyle of the French aristocracy during this period, and it remains a popular choice today for those who appreciate its timeless beauty.
