About the Item
A Chinese late Qing Dynasty period elm wood side table from the early 20th century with woven rattan top, waisted apron and low-relief carved frieze. Created in China during the later years of the Qing Dynasty period in the early 20th century, this side table features a rectangular with woven rattan inset top surrounded by a wooden frame. The waisted apron is carved in low-relief with a frieze depicting scrolling foliage showcasing slight traces of a red color. This carved décor is present on all of the four sides, the table will therefore be able to float in a room and be seen from all angles. The ensemble is raised on four straight legs with horse hoof extremities, connected to one another through plain side stretchers. With its clean lines, delicately carved décor and woven rattan top, this Chinese late Qing Dynasty period elm side table from the early 20th century will make for an exotic addition to any home, placed in a living room, bedroom or hallway.
