About the Item
This sculptural side table is hand-carved from a single block of solid hardwood, following the natural movement of the grain and knots. Its form rises in an organic curve, with a fluid hollow at the center that gives the piece both lightness and rhythm.
The surface preserves the authentic character of the wood, from fine cracks to small knot markings, each detail telling the story of the tree it once was. The piece is smoothed and polished, offering a modern surface finish while maintaining a raw, tactile presence.
Made with chainsaws and carving tools, the design blends spontaneity with control, turning natural irregularities into sculptural features. It serves as a functional side table, a stand for art or plants, or simply a conversation piece in contemporary, rustic, or wabi-sabi inspired interiors.
Finished with natural oils and waxes to enhance the grain and protect the wood while keeping its warm, organic tone. Designed and made in Europe by Logniture, where each work is shaped as both furniture and sculpture.

Logniture
We have dedicated our whole life to nature with which we have grown and matured, from which we have learned and which we have preserved. Oh yes, it can sometimes be cruel, but even in that regard, it impresses us and leaves us breathless. It inspires us in all respects, so we have risen to the challenge of finding a new artistic expression. Our unique pieces of furniture are at the same time functional pieces of art. They are a part of our soul, a part of the primeval nature made entirely out of a single piece of wood, and not just any piece, but a special one, grown resisting the brutal strength of water, wind and the harshness of the Sun, a piece which we happened upon during our stroll in the woods. We do not cut down, we do not destroy, but seek out downed tree limbs toppled by fierce wind storms or driftwood from the local creek. But, in that moment of discovery all it takes is a tiny spark in the artist's eye and in his vision the piece becomes what it was always meant to be. It is as if the artist is speaking to the wood or better yet, making love to it because without such a relationship these unique pieces, these works of art wouldn't exist. The Emerge side table is a modern organic form made from ancient matai trees (a native timber of New Zealand) that have fallen naturally into rivers and preserved for hundreds of years under sediment layers before natural water erosion exposes them.
We rescue these trees from the river and continue their journey to become a cherished piece of functional art. This sustainable timber, naturally felled by nature, has been carbon dated at over 1500 years old. A sculptural shape made from individual pieces of matai wood formed together to make a patch work grain pattern.
The wood is finished with a hand rubbed, low V.O.C., natural plant oils to bring the stunning grain to life.
