Painted Cast Iron and Marble Bistro Table from France, Early to Mid 1900s

About the Item

Produced in France during the early to mid-1900’s, this painted cast iron and marble bistro table can comfortably sit two people. A one-inch-thick round top, which is light gray with darker gray and white veining, rests on four curved supports that extend upwards from the white painted iron base. The supports are reinforced by a center ring that is attached just below the point where the arms splay outwards. The top of the base is adorned with a sun-like element and has been stamped “E W Depose”. Niche-shaped openings grace the inward sloping sides above four legs festooned with scrolls and triangular foliate motifs. Each of the tapering legs slant downwards as they approach four hoof feet on circular pads. With a diameter of just over 35 inches, this painted cast iron and marble bistro table is a great table for when space is an issue. This charming table can be used either indoors or outside.
