About the Item

This Postmodern pair of wall-mounted nightstands was designed by Borek Šípek in1995. Crafted from lacquered wood, the floating cabinets feature glass tops supported by chromed tubular elements in stainless steel and brass, blending industrial precision with organic elegance. The striking black and brass knobs, shaped like delicate floral rosettes, add an ornamental touch to the minimalist geometric forms. The patina is consistent with age, enhancing the warm tones of the wood. Borek Šípek (1949–2016) was a Czech architect and designer known for his whimsical and expressive Postmodern aesthetic, often incorporating unexpected materials and sculptural elements. A visionary in glasswork and furniture design, Šípek’s creations combine historical influences with contemporary craftsmanship, making these nightstands a distinctive and collectible addition to any modern interior.
