Small Baroque Carved Chest on Stand Side Table, Dated 1688
About the Item
Heavily carved small baroque oak chest resting on later dated oak stand with two shelves. Note in the central circular carving along the top, the visible date of 1688 and initials AN. Chest is reinforced with iron corners; note original long interior hinges.
Elaborate hand carved details surround the chest, while old cracks, nicks, scratches and distress are seen throughout reflecting over 300 years of use and age.
Restored and waxed, this side table is stable and ready for use. No lock.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this remarkable side table.
