19th century Petite English sofa table library desk renaissance carved oak gothic.
Direct from London, England, a very petite and highly carved antique English sofa table or writing desk.
Incredible detailed carving and captivating features that include ornate, relief carved lion masks on the canted corners and large carved foliate scrolls across the wide frieze and the front of the full length drawer.
Carvings continue below the apron and surround the over-sized, shaped drop finials. Large, carved acanthus bulbous shape to the legs with carved scroll feet and a turned, carved stretcher for stability and support.
Carved on all sides, perfect for placement anywhere in a room because there's not a "back side". Solid oak with a dark finish, well built by craftsmen of the period, c1890. A very petite size for this style, making it extremely versatile for use in today's home!!
