George III Period Mahogany Tripod Table with Scallop-Shaped Top
About the Item
A fine quality mahogany tripod table on well-turned stem raised on elegantly shaped legs ending in slipper feet. The scallop-shaped top has a dished and beautifully molded edge and retains a fabulous color and patina. The darker area in the center of the top shows the natural fading that has occurred on the rest of the surface while that area must have been covered by a flower vase or some other object. Overall, a well proportioned table that stands elegantly. Repair to the block.
