1980's Gail Packer (American), Signed & Framed Aquatint Etching, Artist's Proof
About the Item
Gail Packer (American, 1945-2008), "Vineyard at Geyserville II", color etching on paper, pencil signed, titled and numbered "A.P." lower margin, matted and framed under glass,
This artwork is an aquatint titled Vineyard at Geyserville II by Gail Packer, as indicated by the inscription and the artist's signature. Aquatint is a printmaking technique, similar to etching, that produces areas of tone through the use of a porous ground that resists acid. The piece depicts a detailed landscape of a vineyard, set in the rolling hills of Geyserville, California, with a focus on rural architecture and pastoral scenery.
In the foreground, the artwork features a decorative band depicting white geese beneath a row of trees, adding a charming narrative element to the landscape. The illustration is bordered by the footprints of geese adding an additional element of whimsy. The hills and the sky in the background offer a rich interplay of colors and textures, typical of aquatints' capacity to capture fine gradations in tone and detail.
The frame is hand-painted and likely created specifically to complement the colors and themes of the artwork. The names and dates “Hildy 1985” and “Lois 1989,” on the frame may be references to specific geese.
This print is marked "A.P." in the lower margin, indicating it is an Artist’s Proof, a small edition traditionally reserved for the artist's personal use. Artist’s Proofs are often considered more valuable by collectors due to their limited availability.
This combination of hand-painted framing and the aquatint technique suggests this piece is not only a collectible print but also a thoughtful integration of artistic elements that increase its uniqueness.
Note: This work will be professionally packed at the sellers expense by an expert service. This allows the work to be sent via UPS/USPS at a cost significantly less than white glove service.

"Dancer” – Artist’s Proof Serigraph by Bertha Vincent Walls (American, 1917–2010)
Bertha Vincent Walls (American, 1917–2010). Edition: Artist’s Proof (A.P.), pencil signed lower right, edition notation lower left.
A striking silkscreen print by noted American artist Bertha Vincent Walls, whose work explores dynamic human forms through bold color blocking and dramatic silhouette. In Dancer, a muscular male figure is caught mid-leap, arm raised with theatrical flair against an abstract red and ochre background. The visual tension between motion and stillness reflects Walls’ deep engagement with modern dance, movement, and the expressive human body. This vibrant Artist’s Proof exemplifies the artist’s command of color and form in mid-century printmaking.
Attribution Note:
Stylistically, Dancer aligns with the mid-20th-century figurative expression seen in the works of Charles Wilbert White...

Betsy Lewis Napangardi was a traditional Warlpiri woman from the Yuendumu Community region. Betsy was born in the bush just west of Yuendumu in the 1940’s, this was before hospitals and health clinics were available and accessible in the area. Betsy moved to Mount Doreen Station with her family at a young age. She was raised by Paddy Japanangka Lewis and attended the Yuendumu School. She spent her life living in Yuendumu.
Betsy began painting full time in 1999 however she had been painting for Warlukurlangu Artists for some time before then. She was considered at the forefront of the move towards more abstract depictions of Aboriginal art however did maintain a strong connection to her Kurruwarri heritage. Her art is bright and textured with thick layers of paint. Some of her family members are also artists such as Margaret Lewis.
Betsy is known best for five Dreamtime depictions - Snake Vine, Women’s Dreaming, Edible Fungus, Dreaming Site and Dogwood. The story of Jintiparnta is of the Napangardi and Napanangka women who collect Jintiparnta or Edible Fungus at Karnakarlangu. The area is also known as Mina Mina. The ancestral women would travel from here heading north and east toward Janyinki and Alcoota country. The Mina Mina is a ceremonial place which belongs to the Japanangka and Japangardi men and the Napanangka and Napangardi women. Water soakages, sand hills...
