Italian 18th Century Giltwood and Mecca Architectural Element

About the Item

A majestic and large scale Italian 18th century giltwood and mecca architectural element. The unique and extremely decorative carved giltwood element displays beautiful richly carved scrolled foliate designs, charming flowers and finely etched patterns. The impressive top crown is centered by a silvered mecca oval cabochon framed within a giltwood border and accented with four mecca scrolls. At each side are additional scrolled movements decorated with fine etched floral designs leading to larger mecca scrolls. All original gilt and mecca throughout.
