About the Item

A rare, domed, black, white and red enameled Art Nouveau advertising plate designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1905 for Wiener Werkstätte. The Wiener Werkstätte, founded by Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, and Fritz Waerndorfer in 1903 in Vienna, was known for its high-quality craftsmanship. This particular piece dates back to the 1960s. Wiener Werkstätte Modernes Kunstgewerbe Ständige Ausstellung Neustiftgasse 32 The sign is in very good condition with marginal patina. It is our belief that this sign has never been displayed, making it a decorative object and a highly recommended collector's piece. Signed: Emailwerk Steg Wien XVI
