A tall piece, this illustration is on thin blue paper and ready for framing. The piece is created from a series of small thin strokes with pastel. Signed at Bottom C. Seglem.
About the artist:
This piece is by the late Oklahoma artist and retired Air Force man Clair Seglem. Seglem painted into his 1990s before passing at his Oklahoma residence. He was known for his striking portraits and still life paintings.

Wonderful and darkly intriguing original artwork by renowned American Modernist artist and California artist benefactor Millard Sheets (1907-1989) featuring wartime boats caught in stormy seas. Very evocative and certainly quite relevant to the time it was created taken in the context of the war.
The work is hand pencil signed and dated (1942) by Sheets on the mat just below the artwork.
Provenance: Property from the estate of Millard Sheets.
