1960's Mil Lubroth Abstract Mixed Media Oil Painting Madrid Listed Artist
About the Item
Great original mixed media abstract oil painting by listed female artist Mil Lubroth and dates from the 1960's. Wonderful design and comes in its original silver painted wood frame. Mil Lubroth was an American born artist that moved to Spain to study art. The painting is on masonite board. Signed in the lower corner and has a decal on the back. In nice original condition. Color is great, frame has some surface wear and the painting is in very nice condition. Measures approx. 22 1/4" by 14 1/4" framed. Actual painting measures approx. 20 1/8" by 12 1/8".

Mil Lubroth
Madrid artist Mil Lubroth started life as Millie Schleifer, star pupil at New York's La Guardia High School of Music and Art. After obtaining a B.A. from Southern Cal, an M.A. from Kansas State, and studying with de Kooning and Albers at Black Mountain College, she became a Fullbright Scholar destined for Vienna who later settled in Madrid. She was the first North American to exhibit at the prestigious Ateneo Cultural Center in Madrid and has since shown her work steadily in Madrid, Seville, Granada, Barcelona, Burgos and other Spanish and European cities, as well as in the U.S. Among influences, she names Klee, Rauschenberg, Twombly and Kitaj.
