Early 19th century “Portrait of a Man in a White Shirt”, from the French school. Showing a young gentlemen classically dressed for the period, in white chemise and cravat, with piercing blue eyes and a Fine head of hair. Oil on cloth, in a giltwood frame, relined. With such wonderful attention to detail, and presented against a plain, dark background to ensure all attention is on his face, this carefully painted portrait would surely have been a prized memento of a much- loved family member.
