Annunciazione con angeli, scuola romana del XVII secolo, olio su carta applicata su tela, misure 78x58.5 cm.
Questo dipinto ad olio è stato realizzato su una carta, che, guardando in controluce, si capisce sia stata piegata a metà per molto tempo. Successivamente, nel XX secolo, è stata applicata su una tela per poterla fruire e conservare nel miglior modo possibile.
Era abitudine nei secoli scorsi preparare dei dipinti su carta, che si potevano spostare con facilità, da mostrare ai committenti prima di realizzare grandi tele. In questo caso il dipinto sembra proprio il bozzetto per una grande pala, forse mai realizzata oppure andata persa.
Il dipinto è di chiara ispirazione barocco romana, ricorda il pittore Carlo Maratta e verosimilmente potrebbe trattarsi proprio della sua bottega.
