"Blonde Youth, " Impressionist Portrait of Staffan Nyblom by Swedish Painter
About the Item
This handsome and affectionate portrait of a young man, his tousled blonde hair glinting in the light, was painted by the subject's father, the Swedish artist Ture Lennart Nyblom. The artist's brushstrokes are loose and confident, and he beautifully captures the ruddy complexion, blue jacket and white collar of his subject, Staffan. The youth's appearance suggests that he sat for his portrait in his school uniform while in his teens. The painting is oil on wood panel, and is not framed.
