Royal House Antiques We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original circa antique oil painting signed by A J Sticks A very good looking and wonderfully executed painting, it has an important attributions to the rear which read as follows EXTRACT FROM THE DICTIONARY OF VICTORIAN PAINTERS (2ND EDIT) CHRISTOPHER WOOD A.J. STICKS FL LATE 19TH CENTURY Painted lanscapes and watercolours. Worked for a firm of stained glass manufacturers in Newcastle-on-Tyne members of the sticks family of painters Bibl Hall There is also a framers label which reads S.L NIELSEN CARVER GILDER PICTURE FRAMER ART REPOSITORY YORK ROAD WEST HARTLEPOOL The condition is very good, I can't see any repairs, it just has a good aged finish I absolutely love this little painting, the frame is sublime and it gives you what all good paintings should do, a window in to another time. I always think the round front frames look like that old "going back in time" effect you saw in books and movies when they were looking through a telescope Dimensions Height:- 25.5cm Width:- 25.5cm Depth:- 3cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask.
