About the Item
Peripatetic and brilliant, Hari Kidd, the painter who created this brilliant still life was associated with Philadelphia, Detroit, Key West and Tucson, but he is best known for his work near the Mexican border in El Paso. Kidd executed a number of paintings depicting Texan and Mexican life, and was considered an important Modernist. Here, his brilliance with watercolor is on display, and his mastery of color, different wash techniques and composition is reminiscent of another genius from the early to mid-20th century, Charles Demuth. (Dimensions include matte and frame).
