Modern abstract, mixed-media on aluminum painting; titled “Every Day That Goes By” by Maria Astadjov, a conceptual fine artist. Signed on front bottom right; measuring approx. 36" H x 24" W x 1.5” D. Gallery wrapped, finished sides, circa 2019. Identifying with the abstract expressionist movement, internationally recognized artist Maria Astadjov, offers an exciting and expressive body of work. She plays with color, edgy design and mixed media to produce art that befits the process. Her large, gallery wrapped canvases show off her signature style of expressive bold statements. Maria Astadjov is a classically trained and brilliantly skilled artist. Bulgarian born Canadian artist whose works are the result of an on-going process of personal evolution. Following extensive study and the completion of a Masters of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, Maria travelled throughout Europe until she crossed the Atlantic to settle in Montreal in 1990. She quickly established her successful career in graphic design and contributed to Emmy award-winning animation developed for Cinar, the notable children's series' producers of television hits that include Caillou and Arthur. The years spent regulating her innate artistic passion only served to refine and fully develop her distinctive style. Maria’s completed works range from startling black and color ink on paper, to illustrious mixed media and acrylic and oil paintings on canvas and aluminum. Exhibitions include showings at galleries across Canada, New York, California, Europe and Japan.
