About the Item
This antique painting was dome by the very well known Philip Eustice Stretton of England in approximately 1900 in the period Victorian style. This original painting is done with oil on canvas and depicts a small terrior curled up with a fly fishing creel and fly rod and titled "Left in Charge". The painting has a small brass plaque on the front and an original gallery label on the back. Stretton is known for his realistic paintings of animals and most notably dogs in whimsical vignettes such as this one. The dimensions posted refer to the framed artwork and the painting itself measures nineteen and a quarter inches wide and fifteen and a half inches in height.
