The Honorable John Maler Collier (British, 1850-1934) was an important artist who painted portraits, dramatic themes, and landscapes. Maler painted in the Pre-Raphaelite style, and was one of the most prominent portrait painters of his generation. He was educated at the Eton School and studied art in Munich and Heidelberg, as well as at the Slade School under Poynter and in Paris under Laurens. He is a writer, translator and visual artist. He has been teaching literature since 1982 and exhibiting in the main art galleries in Morocco and in various places abroad since the early 1990s. He recently participated in the Buenos Aires Biennial of Contemporary Art (Bienalsur), and his works are in several large private collections and museums. Hassan Bourkia has been exploring the field of memory for several years to speak about the drama of immigration and the suffering caused by the trauma of conflicts around the world. William Didier Pouget (1864-1959) was born in Toulouse and began his career as an artist in 1886 when he participated in the "Salon de Paris". He studies at the "Des Beaux-Arts" school in Toulouse and then at the "Académie de Paris", considered close to the Impressionist painters. He becomes a member of the "Société Des Artistes Français", knows and associates with many important artists including Jean Baptiste Corot. His river landscapes are rich in poetry and the painter usually prefers to capture the light of sunset or sunrise, I paint the figure of the tree in a dark and decisive color in contrast with the clear light of the sky. In fact, on the back the painter writes what he paints, namely the light of 'Les Gorges de la Dordogne'. Since 1903 Didier-Pouget exhibits in the United States where he is very much appreciated.
