Bert Stern is an American photographer known for his iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe. Through a 1962 photo shoot just weeks before the actress' death, Stern compiled her image into the photo book Marilyn Monroe: The Complete Last Sitting, first published in 1982. Throughout his career, Stern changed the landscape of fashion and advertising by creating dynamic, self-contained images that no longer needed to serve text to exist.
