The NeverEnding Story 1984 (German: Die unendliche Geschichte), the most expensive film of its time made outside of the USA. This poster from its first year of release in The Czech Republic in 1986, designed by Sona Vorlickova is simply out of this World!
Like their neighbours in Poland, the designers of the Czech Republic, free from commercial constraints and enjoying far greater artistic freedom than their Western counterparts, treated film poster design as an art form. The result is an immensely powerful, wildly original and beautiful body of work.
