18th Century Albertus Seba Shell Engravings, Pair

About the Item

Outstanding pair of 18th century hand-colored shell engravings by Albertus Seba (1665-1736). Plates Tab. LXIX and Tab. LXXIV. The Engravings were taken from the original edition of "Cabinet of Curiosities" written and compiled by Albertus Sebas. The engravings were sold and beautifully framed in 1993 by Arader Galleries. The folios measure approximately 23.5" x 19"; the framed works measure 30" x 35". There is some refraction and shadowing/discoloration in the photos due to lighting conditions. These exceptional gold leafed frames and mats are in excellent condition; the folios are in overall very good condition.
