Set of Three Signed Sturtevant Serigraphs
By Elaine Sturtevant
Located in NYC, NY
A set of three prints by influential American artist Elaine Sturtevant, studying circular motion and riffing/ripping (depending on your views on copyright) off the works of Robert Rauschenberg, Marcel Duchamp and Alexander Calder. Labelled and Each signed 'Sturtevant' and from an edition of 60.
Sturtevant was born in Lakewood, Ohio (USA) and spent the first years of her artistic life working in New York - where in 1956, she began to manually reproduce paintings and objects created by her contemporaries with results that cannot immediately be identified from an original.
Sturtevant intentionally turns the concept of originality on its head... All of her works are copies of the works of other artists; none is an original. She initially focused on works by such American artists as Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg, Jasper Johns, and Andy Warhol. In the late 1960s, she concentrated on replicating works by Joseph Beuys and Duchamp. Since the early 1980s, she has focused on the next generation of artists, including Robert Gober, Anselm Kiefer, Paul McCarthy, and Felix Gonzalez-Torres.
She masters painting, sculpture, photography and film in order to produce a full range of copies of her chosen artist's work. In most cases, her decision to start copying an artist happened before those artists achieved broader recognition. Nearly all of the artists she chose to copy are today considered iconic for their time or style. This has given rise to discussions amongst art critics on how it has been possible for Sturtevant to identify these now famous artists at such an early stage.
A notable incident in her career emphasizes just *how* technically talented she is at assimilation and reproduction of an artistic style: In 1965 a Jasper Johns flag...

View All1960s Karel Appel Colorful Rhino and Monkey Framed Lithograph
By Karel Appel
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Bursting with expressive color and surreal whimsy, this lithograph by acclaimed Dutch modernist Karel Appel captures a seemingly playful encounter between a rhino and a monkey—yet there’s an undercurrent of the fantastical that stirs the imagination. The artist boldly integrated his plate signature directly into the image, a hallmark of Appel’s inventive approach that marries technique with artistry. On close inspection, the viewer discovers layers of translucent ink—each applied with intention, lending a glowing vibrancy and depth that animates the print.
Dating to the charged aesthetic climate of the 1960s, this lithograph embodies the post‑CoBrA spirit—Appel’s embrace of freedom in form, raw emotional expression, and child‑like spontaneity. It’s a rare visual poem in which abstraction resonates like a primal call, while the pair of creatures—vaguely anthropomorphic yet purely expressive—emerge with an uncanny, emotional resonance.
Measuring a commanding 30.25 inches in height (approximately 77 cm) and 22 inches in width (approximately 56 cm), with a frame depth of 0.75 inch (about 1.9 cm), the piece holds remarkable presence on the wall—inviting viewers to pause and explore. Its sizable scale enhances interpretation, encouraging the viewer’s gaze to move across the composition, catching the shifting balance between abstraction and figuration, between whimsical narrative and spontaneous form.
The print arrives framed and ready to hang, preserving its integrity while remaining approachable to collectors and designers alike. The condition is consistent with age—well-maintained, with only minor wear that supports its provenance without diminishing impact.
Born in 1921, Appel emerged as a founding member of the CoBrA avant-garde group—an incubator of radical creative thought intent on freeing art from formal constraints. His work would later find its way into the world's most prestigious collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, confirming his status in the canon of 20th-century modern art.
This lithograph is more than a print—it is a dynamic fragment of art history, alive with expression, movement, and intuition. It speaks to collectors who prize narrative depth and emotional color, to curators seeking works that blur the boundaries between high modernism and expressive spontaneity.

Christian Riese Lassen Genesis Hawaiian Aqua Fantasy Framed Galerie Lassen Print
Located in Chattanooga, TN
Emerging from the depths of imagination and the infinite cosmos, “Genesis” by Christian Riese Lassen unfolds as a majestic vision—where sea and sky collide in a dance of light, color, and narrative. Within this dynamic scene, whales and dolphins arc through luminous, roaring waves toward a fiery sunset, while a swirling nebula hangs above in cosmic reverie. The vibrant cobalt of the ocean’s depths melds with the incandescent oranges of the sky, creating an evocative tableau that bridges the elemental forces of water and starlight, alive with Lassen’s characteristic dramatic intensity and vivid palette.
Presented in a custom powder‑blue frame, the print is enhanced by a playful elegance that both echoes the marine tones within the composition and imbues the work with a refined, gallery-ready presence. It commands attention within its generous dimensions—approximately 33¼ inches wide by 39¼ inches high—perfectly suited for elevated settings ranging from high-ceiling entries to curated living galleries.
“Genesis” is a licensed reproduction from Galerie Lassen on Maui, bearing the artist’s signature and copyright within the image—affirming its authenticity and artistic provenance.
As an homage to the elemental bond between marine life and the cosmos, this print is more than decorative—it’s a poetic statement piece. Its vibrant dramatism appeals to collectors drawn to nature, fantasy, and luminous storytelling through art.
