Jim Dine Signed Blue Trees (Diptych) Pop Art Set of Two Etchings Prints

About the Item

A set of two large etchings by famed American artist Jim Dine (1935- ) titled "Blue (Diptych)" which appears to be based on his sublime 1980 painting "A Tree that Shatters the Dancing" which can be found in The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), New York. Diptych etching with electric tools on two sheets of Rives BFK paper. Printed by Mitchell Friedman and Nicholas Dine. Published by Pace Editions, New York. D'Oench/Feinberg 89. The work is pencil-signed and dated 1981 by Dine and noted "P/P" for printer's proof (aside from a numbered edition of 29). Quite a rare and stunning set. Provenance: Property from the collection of Mitchell Friedman, master printer for Jim Dine 1974-1981. Along with such revered artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Robert Dowd, Phillip Hefferton, Joe Goode, Edward Ruscha, and Wayne Thiebaud, Jim Dine was instrumental in the birth of the Pop Art movement.
