About the Item

The Danse Wall Hanger is part of a collection of pieces that reinterprets the work "La Danse" by Henri Matisse, one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century. It is believed that the idea for the composition came about in 1905, while the painter was watching some fishermen performing a round dance, the sardana, on a beach in the South of France. The spheres were used to give the piece movement and, at the same time, repetition. Note: kit contains 03 pieces.

If sold to the USA it will be wired for the USA for instance. Rethinking, reimagining, redesigning familiar objects that we look at every day without ever really seeing them and using light to tell stories, this how Marie-Lise Féry sees her work. Offering a new take on our urban heritage, changing our perspective through her work on scale and usage. Since 2015, Magic Circus Éditions has been setting the world of lighting ablaze, creating airy, playful and magical designs that merge retro with sleek and contemporary. A free-spirited antiquarian, founder Marie-Lise Féry draws inspiration from the world of cabarets and the magic of the circus to give shape to imaginative, fun and playful collections. The air of magic she breathes into her work reveals a wealth of interpretations and widens possibilities for creative interiors. The combination of traditional know-how — outstanding craftsmanship — and her imaginative take on historical, everyday objects lends an unexpected and charming quality to her creations. Féry’s lights are designed just like magic lanterns — precursor to modern-day cinema —, inspiring wonder through oversized, seemingly weightless compositions and understated references. Each collection has its own inspiration: the first models of street lighting for Collection 01; the happy memories of funfairs, sweets and balloons for her latest collection Balloon; the Far East for Collection 02; and the colourful, carefree spirit of the 1970s for Pop-Up, released in 2019. Magic Circus Éditions draws on airy designs, dream-like inspirations, colours and fun to create a sense of enchantment. Magic Circus Éditions founder Marie-Lise Féry was born in Paris. After studyingart business, she moved to New York to start her career. Fascinated by the city’s architecture, she found an endless source of inspiration in the Big Apple’s monumental decors. Returning to France to settle down in Lyon, she opened an antiques gallery named Un Château en Espagne, and started telling her own stories through objects she gleaned on markets all around the country. A way for her to perpetuate her mother’s motto: “Objects with a soul will always belong”. Since 2015, the year she established Magic Circus Éditions, she has moved on to lighting as a new medium for telling her stories, bringing the magic of the show into home interiors. With her love for the circus, turn-of-the-century cabarets and music halls, Marie-Lise Féry’s love of unusual objects has remained strong, but now prefers to focus her attention on pieces she has imagined herself. With a fun and light-spirited approach, she creates a bold visual effect that elicits instant attraction. She collaborates with some of Europe’s greatest artisans, from Prague and Murano to Clermont-Ferrand, working for instance with a Czech company specialising in sculpting glass using a diamond-blade saw, or an auto body shop renowned for their work with lacquers. The refinement of shapes and finishes, bespoke designs and technical excellence all contribute to creating pieces that inspire surprise and wonderment. In the manner of Wes Anderson in Grand Budapest...

Melodicware Trio, Musical Portal, Agustina Bottoni
By Agustina Bottoni
Located in Geneve, CH
Designed by Agustina Bottoni Handcrafted in Italy Materials: Solid brass with satin finish - rayon fringes Size: 150cm x 110cm Chain length: 150cm / 60 Melodicware explores the auditory experience of objects. These items contains brass chimes of different lengths that play musical notes. Swinging by breeze or touch, they release casual melodies inspired by Debussy. Melodicware not only embellishes a space as a jewel. Through interaction, it comes to life for a fleeting moment. The lush fringes of the delicate pieces invite to be touched by passers by, becoming thus an unexpected musical instrument. Agustina Bottoni Agustina Bottoni is an independent Argentinian designer based in Milan. She works for companies, private clients and self-productions of objects, textiles and furniture. Graduated at the University of Buenos Aires, and after years of working in the fashion industry, she transferred to Milan, graduating with honors of the MA in product design at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. Following, she collaborated with design studios in Italy and the Netherlands before dedicating since 2015 to her independent design practice. Exploring the language of everyday objects, these projects tell stories through a gentle use of shape. Agustina’s multicultural experience influences the research of different materials and techniques. They also encourage an emotional perception, considering objects as companions in our lives. Her works have been exhibited at Triennale Design Museum in Milan, Salone del Mobile, Maison&Objet and others. Since 2016, she is a co-founder of design collective The Ladies’ Room.
