Antique Crescent moon bangle, Sapphire and Diamond, 9k gold
About the Item
A gorgeous antique Victorian era Sapphire and Diamond bangle in 9ct yellow gold.
A pretty openwork style gold bangle with a hinged side clasp.
All eyes are on the main feature of the bangle though the wonderfully chunky crescent moon.
It is a closed style crescent in warm yellow gold and is adorned with sparkling old cut diamonds and rich blue sapphires.
The stones are all a good cut and quality and are set back in diamond shaped bezel settings.
The crescent moon was and still remains today a very popular symbol in jewellery and represents change and feminine power amongst other things.
Always highly sought after it is more usual to find them as brooches so finding a bangle in the original design is truly a wonderful thing!

Unmarked Victorian era, c1890s, tests as 9ct gold.
