David Yurman Vintage Wire Twist Bracelet Circa 1990s

About the Item

This is an uncommon early 1990s David Yurman twisted wire cable clamper bracelet in pristine condition. The twisted sterling silver cable bracelet is 9.22mm thick and each end is set with a luminous, periwinkle-blue natural chalcedony cabochon -without any chips, scratches or damage -set into a fully hallmarked 14k yellow gold mount, each of which is further adorned with five rectangular-cut rhodolite garnets. The raspberry color of these gorgeous garnets compliments the chalcedony perfectly. The bracelet measures approximately 6" with an 11mm opening, which expands to 1 ⅜ when fully open, making this bracelet appropriate for somebody with a small to medium-sized wrist. A classic, early David Yurman piece that has been worn with care and stored safely when not on the wrist. People love their David Yurman pieces and wear them daily. Similar David Yurman cable bracelets of this style, from this era, often have gemstones that display chips or abrasions from such daily wear. But this one is minty.

  • Chalcedony Multi-Strand Arts & Crafts Style Bracelet, Circa 1970s
    Located in Southbury, CT
This luminous blue and grayish-blue chalcedony bracelet was created in the Arts & Crafts style though it dates to a later era; probably the 1970s. This one-of-a-kind bracelet was completely handmade using natural highly translucent blue chalcedony gems. At 141 grams, it's a satisfyingly substantial bracelet that will not get lost on your arm. The central flower-shaped arrangement is composed of one round 21mm chalcedony cabochon surrounded by eight oval and pear-shaped stones, along with two large 20mm x 17mm pear-shaped cabochons north and south. This collection of stones are soldered together as one piece that is curved to follow the arch of your wrist. On either side of this central design element are nine chalcedony cabochons, each bezel set and joined by hand-formed links. The links terminate on both ends at a row of 5 stones: two round, three ovals. The bracelet closes securely with a box clasp and safety latch. Because the central portion of this very large bracelet is fused, it's not a sloppy piece; the gems don't spin around on your wrist and become tangled. It retains its form and only the stones on the sides that are linked by chain can move freely. It's a clever design. The bracelet measures 7 ½ in length and is 3 ¾ wide. So it should fit many but the largest wrists. The bracelet is marked 925 for the silver and has an unknown maker's mark I cannot identify. Gorgeous, unique, and featuring the most distinctive blue in the gem world, this vintage chalcedony...

  • Charm Bracelet As Memoir: French, Circa 1880
    Located in Southbury, CT
Dating to the late Victorian-era (Circa 1880), this French silver charm bracelet is unusual for both the high-quality of its charms and their uniqueness as well. Charm bracelets are fascinating. In an era when women's voices were so frequently stifled, the charm bracelet could be deployed as a means of communication, of telling a story without saying a single word. A charm bracelet allowed its owner to express her individuality, her interests, her dreams, her hopes, her regrets. The Victorians loved secrets and secret messages. Perhaps you've seen a Victorian acrostic...
