About the Item

A beautiful line bracelet from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful and substantial piece is made of 14k gold and has a classic line bracelet design. The bracelet is composed of seventeen links, which are adorned with a variety of rubies and pink and white sapphires. All of the stones are held in open-back bead settings, and each link features two stones, one that is white in tone, and another that is pink in tone. However, the final link, into which the push clasp secures, features two white stones, and one central pink stone. The tops and bottoms of the rectangular links feature curling stampwork, which further adds to the unique appeal of the piece. The bracelet opens and fastens at a push clasp hidden within the design, and a figure eight at the side provides extra security when worn. It's a wonderful everyday piece that would make a marvelous, colorful addition to any collection! Measurements: The bracelet measures 7 1/2" long and would fit nicely on an average sized wrist. The bracelet is 1/4" wide and 1/8" thick. Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting and the push clasp opens easily and fastens securely. The figure eight safety is secure and intact. All of the stones are free of chips and securely set.

Victorian jewelry is dated from 1837 to 1901. The era’s name was inherited from Queen Victoria who reigned during that time. Her significant input shaped the jewelry style of that time. To navigate in such a vast period, historians divide it into following parts: • The Early Victorian or Romantic • The Middle of Grand Victorian • The Late or Aesthetic Victorian Era Different materials, gemstones and techniques were popular specifically for each era. Some styles though remained in favor longer than during just one period. For instance, hair jewelry made its way through Romantic to Grand period. Snake and animal motifs were also in demand throughout the era. • Early Victorian jewelry As to the Queen influence, Romantic Period jewelry had well pronounced sentimental vibes. It was the time when young Queen Victoria was in love with her husband, Prince Albert. And the whole nation admired their relationship.
