About the Item
A Victorian, diamond, and silver brooch, comprising twenty-three old cut diamonds, graduating in size, set in silver, with a silver pin and fittings.
This beautiful brooch is shaped as an elegant crescent moon. The diamonds graduate inside from the centre of the moon and are set in pinched silver settings. The chunky old cut diamonds are supremely sparkly, bright, white, and well-matched with one another. The diamonds have good clarity, and sparkle in a way that only old cut diamonds can, with their chunky facets. This brooch makes an exquisite statement, and crescent moons were a popular motif in the Victorian era. The brooch is of exceptional quality. It would make a wonderful piece of wedding jewellery, and can be worn pinned to clothing, strung on a chain as a pendant, or even in the hair; brooches are wonderfully flexible for wear. The brooch is fitted with a silver safety catch and silver pin. The brooch is in excellent condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
