A Victorian citrine and gold brooch

About the Item

A Victorian citrine and gold brooch, the oval faceted citrine measuring approximately 1.5 x 1.3cm, surrounded by textured flower heads, foliate scrolls and cannetille decorations, mounted in yellow gold with gold pin fitting and later roller catch, circa 1850, measuring 4.4 x 3.3cm, gross weight 8.5 grams. This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age, with later roller catch. Unmarked, tested as 15ct gold. This dainty and elegant Victorian citrine and gold brooch hails from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London distinguished jewellers by appointment to His Majesty the King. At the core of the brooch is a gleaming oval citrine surrounded by delicately crafted flower heads, foliate scrolls and cannetille decorations with texture. This brooch is a fine example of Victorian craftmanship.
