About the Item

Dangle earrings designed by Vicki Eisenfeld. This is a fabulous and one of a kind pair of dangle earrings, created in Connecticut USA by the talented studio jewelry designer Vicky Eisenfeld, back in the 1992. The beautiful earrings has been carefully crafted with intricate weaving patterns, made up with microscopic twisted wires of solid gold of 22, 18 and 14 karats. The earrings has been realized with the very difficult Japanese technique of mixing metals called, Mokume. The design is composed by three sculptural elements that couple with each other. They are accompanied with two alternative dangle little double strands of pearls to convert for day or night or just to have an extra gipsy look. They are fitted at the reverse with posts (Removable) for pierced ears and comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips. Diamonds: Mount in bezel settings, with 4 round brilliant cuts diamonds, 0.40 carats, J/K color, VS-2 clarity. Pearls: Mount in bezel settings, with 6 cultured round white pearls of 6 mm. Weight: Combined of 47.3 Grams, (30.35 Dwt). Measurements: 95 mm by 22 mm (3.75 x 0.87 Inches). Hallmarks: They are both signed at the reverse by the artist itself, as follow, "VICKY. EISENFELD 14K 18K 22K 1/1 92". Vicki Eisenfeld She is an American jewelry designer. For nearly 50 years, Vicki Eisenfeld has run a studio at the Farmington Valley Art Center in West Hartford, Connecticut, which she founded in the 1980s. She studied Fine Art in Carnegie Mellon University and for some years continued to study jewelry and improve her skills in working with metal and stones. The combination of metals in one product, which created an unusual texture and play of color, became most popular in the late 1970s. Vicki Eisenfeld was one of several American designers who embodied their artistic vision in the intricate technique of integrating metals using high-carat gold. Her work was many times top award-winning. Vicki Eisenfeld has been featured in exhibitions at museums including the American Crafts Museum in New York, Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond, the Walters Museum of Art in Baltimore, the Textile Museum in Washington, DC, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The jewelry of Eisenfeld was included in the traveling exhibition “The Art of Gold,” sponsored by Exhibits USA. In addition, she has participated in leading trade shows including those sponsored by the American Crafts Council, Crafts America, the American Gem Association , and the Jewelers Circular Keystone. In addition to gold, Eisenfeld uses sterling and pure silver, expanding the range of white shades in contrast with gold. The combination of different techniques makes these products extremely complex in design and execution. According to the designer, what inspires her most is art and design, the beauty and complexity of ancient cultures. In addition to gold and silver of different colors and samples, she uses precious stones, agates, pearls and beads from all over the world. Her pieces are patterned, complex, intense and multi-layered beauty puzzles. Mokume This is a Japanese metalworking procedure which produces a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns; the term is also used to refer to the resulting laminate itself. The term mokume-gane translates closely to "wood grain metal" or "wood eye metal" and describes the way metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain. Mokume-gane fuses several layers of differently coloured precious metals together to form a sandwich of alloys called a "billet." The billet is then manipulated in such a way that a pattern resembling wood grain emerges over its surface. Numerous ways of working mokume-gane create diverse patterns. Once the metal has been rolled into a sheet or bar, several techniques are used to produce a range of effects. Collections: The American Crafts Museum in New York, The Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond, The Walters Museum of Art in Baltimore, The Textile Museum in Washington, DC, and The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Collateral: These earrings are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of these earrings are excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All gemstones are secured in their settings. This earrings has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
