I can't put this necklace down. I keep picking it up and holding it in front of the window so that it's backlit and it makes my heart beat faster. And I struggle to describe it because it's so far from ordinary that using words like "amazing" and "spectacular" just make it seem ordinary. Words are like jeans; they can get worn out. This necklace is extremely rare both in terms of its design but also in the quality of the beads. If I had children, I would never let go of this piece. It's too precious. I know I'll never find another one like it but it belongs on somebody. When I touch it, it generates a spark of joy inside my chest. So many things in life are somehow less than we want or expect or think they should be, but this necklace is the real thing. In that sense, it's perfect. Encountering something perfect gives you that spark of "wow" inside and that matters, that *is* something. This 25" certified natural and untreated jadeite jade necklace from the mid-century is composed is fifty-two (52) 8.20 mm black jadeite beads between which are smaller beads of fine apple green, yellow-orange, translucent pale lavender, and white which measure 5.45 mm and 4.07 mm. All of the colored beads display very fine translucency with several that are semi-translucent. The black beads have the polish of a concert grand piano. The colored beads all display exquisite coloring with even tone, excellent saturation and gorgeous luminosity. A 14k yellow gold clasp with a safety latch completes the piece. It's Gump's quality but it's not Gump's; and I know this will make sense to like seven people, but. This stunningly sophisticated necklace of extremely rare and precious undyed and untreated Burmese jadeite jade beads is remarkable for the coloring of the beads and overall its overall design. I've not seen a jade necklace quite like this one before. This necklace allows you to wear a pop of color but also not. The black jade beads have a grounding effect, framing the smaller colorful ones. It's not a garish, multi-color necklace even though it's a multi-colored necklace. There's a nod to the Art Deco aesthetic in the design of this necklace, which I appreciate. It's also of Art Deco-era quality but I'm confident in its mid-century origin. If you have a very slender neck, you could wear this wrapped twice. It's purity marked and has a maker's mark which I have been unable to identify. Some necklaces are necklaces and that's fine. This necklace is a jewel. And that's something very special. You won't find another like it.
