Stunning feminine floral necklace by the House of Dior, made up of Pink and Purple teardrop rhinestones which form clusters of flowers, set in heavily plated gold tone metal, c.1980′s

The larger flowers measure approx 2cm x 2cm and the smaller flowers are 0.6cm x 0.6cm.

The necklace is 43cm long with an extension to 48cm, it measures 3cm at its widest point. The condition is mint, the necklace comes with its original box and care leaflet and appears unworn.

Marked: Dior CD logo on the extension chain.

Christian Dior 1905-1957
French fashion designer Christian Dior was born in Normandy in 1905.
His first collection in 1947 launched the iconic "New Look" a heady combination of super femininity and opulence in post war Europe, exaggerated by full skirts and cinched waists.
In 1956 in collaboration with Daniel Swarovski, Dior created the Aurora Borealis (AB) coating for Swarovski crystals that was exclusively licensed to Dior at the time, although it is now commonplace.
A number of talented designers produced costume jewellery for the House of Dior, including Mitchell Maer, Kramer, Henkel & Grosse, Gripoix, and Robert Goossens.
Despite Dior's death in 1957 the House of Dior continues to thrive, their jewellery is admired for it superb quality of manufacture.
