About the Item
This chalcedony pendant features a gem encrusted bee. The pendant was originally a 14k gold brooch (circa 1880-1900) transformed by the removal of the pin findings and the addition of a 14k gold & diamond bail. The insect has diamond wings, a sapphire abdomen, and pearl thorax.
The pendant measures 1.7 inches from top to bottom by 1.2 inches wide, and it is in excellent condition. It is accompanied by an 18 inch, 14k gold chain.
The metal content of this necklace was verified via XRF (x ray analysis) and with jeweler's acids.
