About the Item
Antique French Locket: This handmade locket (circa 1870-1880) features nine turquoise cabochons and black enamel accents in 18k gold. The reverse of the bail bears the French eagle's head hallmark.
The exceptional piece measures 1.2 inches from the top of the jump ring to bottom by 0.6 inches wide and weighs 5.33 grams. It has an original glass photo cover that snaps securely in place.
The locket is in great condition with a slight bit of loss to the black enamel visible under very close inspection.
The metal content of this locket was verified via XRF and with jeweler's acids.
