A masterwork of Victorian-era goldsmithing, this elegant 18k gold pendant (circa 1880) is hand-pierced and delicately etched, framing a luminous, natural, untreated ruby weighing approximately 0.68 carats. The ruby’s vivid hue and exceptional clarity are complemented by the artistry of the goldwork, which reflects the refined craftsmanship of the late 19th century.
Accompanied by a gemstone analysis and appraisal from EGL USA (Estimated Retail Replacement Value: $6,000), this jewel’s quality and authenticity are further underscored by metal verification via XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and confirmation with jeweler’s acid testing.
The pendant measures 1.8 inches from top to bottom by 0.7 inches wide, and it is presented in excellent condition. It is paired with a 19-inch, 14k gold chain for immediate wear, though it would be equally striking suspended from a favorite antique or contemporary chain.
