Rare Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Enamel Flower Pendant Silver And Gold Necklace
About the Item
Indulge in a rare early Rose Cut Diamond Enamel Flower Pendant or Brooch dating to the Georgian to Victorian Era set with an abundance of antique Rose Cut Diamonds set in silver with a 9 Karat gold pin stem.
Diamonds were all the rage in the Georgian period and this is a wonderful example. Early pieces such as this are extremely difficult to find. This one is so immensely wearable as the size is just perfect for wearing every day or at the most glamorous affair. It has stunning elegant period character and style. The flower is fully three dimensional. It is set throughout with rose cut diamonds in cut down collets. The flower is further adorned with a blue ribbon and green leaves in enamel. Diamonds were set in silver during the Georgian and early Victorian periods as it is a white metal and thus better reflects the light as white gold and platinum were not available. The brooch can be worn as a pendant by placing a chain under the pin stem as we have done. The brooch can also be easily converted to a pendant with a bale if desired.
The brooch is 55mm (2 1/4 inches) long. It is 33mm (1 1/4 inches) wide and is 12mm deep.
The rose cut diamonds are set in silver collets.
The pin stem is 9 Karat gold.
The pendant weighs 14 grams.
The pin stem is most likely a later addition to the piece.

This is a rare museum quality early Rose Cut Diamond Pendant dating to the Georgian Era set with an abundance of antique Rose Cut Diamonds set in silver atop 14 Karat gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant of great beauty and dating to the 1700s.
Diamonds were all the rage in the Georgian period and this is a wonderful example. Early pieces such as this are extremely difficult to find. This one is so immensely wearable as the size is just perfect for wearing either day or night. It has stunning period character and style.
The pendant is 68 mm (2 3/4 inches) long from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant. Without the bale it is 58 mm long. It is 45 mm (1 3/4 inches) wide at the widest point.
The rose cut diamonds are set in silver collets atop 14 Karat gold.
The gold bale is a later addition.
There has been some restoration of the pendant as is visible from the back - this is very typical of the early Georgian jewels...
