Georgian Silver Pyrite Heart Locket
About the Item
A rare Pyrite and Glass Crowned Heart Pendant made in the late 18th century. The heart locket has a faceted pyrite crown and border, and opens at the reverse to reveal a small compartment. Pyrite is a mineral that was used in jewelry by the ancient Incas, Romans and Greeks. It is said to have healing properties and to protect the wearer from pollutants and negative energy. It stimulates willpower. It evokes energy and strength. How strong minded we would all be if we all wore pyrite. This beautiful and rare small
heart can be worn as is or a memento can be placed under the glass. The photographs show the heart open. Measures 1 inch high 1/2 inch wide. weight 2 grams
