About the Item
This simple, classic, fully modern pendant features a simple solid 22K wire along which are strung 9 jade beads that range in size from 8.02mm to 19.92mm. These are the nephrite variety of jade -as opposed to Jadeite. Nephrite has been the traditional Chinese jade for thousands of years; Jadeite is the rarer and more costly sibling from Burma. Nephrite jade is often seen in a sort of "Army green" color; but here we have a collection of exceedingly uncommon colors: the white bead beneath largest, near-colorless bead is commonly called "mutton fat" jade. The more familiar green is here -in two shades, no less. As is brown, a lighter honey brown, a very pale yellow and a bluish-gray.
The total length of the pendant, including the wire-twisted bail is approximately 4.5".
This rare, uniquely beautiful and modern pendant can be worn by anyone. It ships with certification from Stone Group Labs stating that the nephrite jade is untreated.
