Rare, hand carved ebony wood man with caged torso pendant necklace created by Milton Cavagnaro of Mill Valley, California. Pendant measures 4" long by 1.5" wide and suspends from a 17.25" original cord. In very good vintage 1950s condition. Can be worn by either a man or woman. Unsigned.
Out of a basement studio in his home, Cavagnaro created all types of adornments, including cufflinks for men. Some of his jewelry had an ethnic feel and modern in design. He was known for using natural elements in his work, including various wood types combined with sterling silver.
