Circa 1980s, 18k, by Paul Binder, Zurich, Switzerland. This stunning modernist necklace by Paul Binder of Zurich, is set with a sublime Australian boulder opal surrounded by brilliant white diamonds. The look is Art becomes fashion, a triumph of Post Modern design. Known for signature blue colors, the opal is lightning ridge material. This one is a gorgeous mix of Mediterranean blues and features a very distinctive band of lighter color …extremely unusual. Binder was famous for breakthrough contemporary styling and his dedication to producing only one-of-a-kind works. His pieces are sought after by collectors and museums alike. Excellent condition.
