About the Item
This striking necklace features a bold silver pendant set with a square-shaped large red agate, domed and polished with a waxy lustre. Though geometric, the stone is cabochon-cut, creating a smooth, convex surface with a soft, tactile presence. The agate is bezel-set in a broad silver frame, suspended from a solid, tapered bail. It hangs from a chain of sculptural rectangular links—refined and balanced in form. The necklace fastens with a custom silver hook featuring a large, rounded end—a deliberately visible detail that adds character and complements the bold design.
The piece is bold yet harmonious, modern yet grounded—an expressive and wearable statement with timeless character.
Karl-Ingemar Johansson was a Swedish silversmith based in Gothenburg. After training and working at the prestigious Högberg Brothers’ workshop—known for their high-end modernist silver—he founded his own atelier in 1969, together with his wife Cecilia Johansson.
