About the Item

Fabergé Egg Object of Art, 18k Yellow Gold, Red Guilloché Enamel with Fleur-de-Lys Paillons This Fabergé egg, created around 1995 by the workmaster Victor Mayer, is a refined example of paillon enamel art. Entirely crafted from solid 18k yellow gold, it unites luxurious materials with historic enamel techniques that only few masters still command today. The surface is covered with translucent red guilloché enamel, beneath which twelve delicate fleur-de-lys paillons are embedded. These small golden motifs shimmer through the enamel, their forms emphasised by the wave-like guilloché engraving that adds depth and brilliance. The fleur-de-lys itself has long symbolised French royalty, purity, and light, adding an additional layer of cultural resonance to the design. The egg consists of two precisely fitting halves, joined by rims engraved with an intricate floral motif. Inside, the upper half is lined with silk and bears a silver imprint of the Russian imperial double-headed eagle. The lower half is lined with royal blue silk, its recess shaped to hold a ring or jewel. The object is complemented by a golden stand, also made by Victor Mayer, which enhances its presence as a presentation piece. Both the egg and the stand are signed with the Fabergé signature and the mark of Victor Mayer. The egg is numbered 47 of 100 and the stand 12 of 300, underscoring the rarity of the set. About the Fabergé Workmaster VICTOR MAYER Victor Mayer has been crafting exceptional jewellery for Fabergé for over three decades. The collaboration began in 1990, and from 1990 to 2009, Victor Mayer held the exclusive worldwide licence to create Fabergé jewels and objets d’art, upholding the legacy of the historic Fabergé workmasters. Even today, Victor Mayer continues to produce exquisite jewellery for Fabergé, London, preserving its reputation as a trusted and valued partner in the creation of extraordinary pieces. About vitreous enamel The inimitably luminous colours are literally created “in the fire”: layer by layer, enamel is carefully fired in at 800 degrees Celsius. During guilloching, the finest wave patterns are engraved into the gold, creating a unique depth effect. Vitreous means made of glass: the ancient technique is almost forgotten today and Victor Mayer is perhaps the last manufactory to master it at the highest level. About gold paillons Paillons are shaped emblems of gold foil fused onto a pre-fired enamel ground and then coated with clear enamel. This creates the illusion of chased metal beneath the enamel surface. Paillons are produced as small pre-shaped motifs with a slight relief. Victor Mayer is one of the very few specialist workshops with the equipment and expertise to create paillons today. About guilloché Guilloché refers to geometric patterns engraved into the surface of precious metal and visible through translucent enamel. The engraved design enhances the luminous quality of the enamel, creating a dynamic play of colours as the object is moved in the light. Availability This exceptional piece is currently in stock and available for immediate shipment. The Fabergé egg will be presented in its original Fabergé box, ensuring a luxurious and authentic experience.

Fabergé Style Bejewelled and Enamelled Gold Egg by Asprey
By Asprey International Limited, Garrard & Co. Ltd.
Located in London, GB
This exceptional, 18 carat gold Easter egg was crafted by the famous London-based royal jewellers, Asprey & Co. The piece was then retailed by Garrard & Co, who once worked in collaboration with Asprey, producing luxury jewellery and silver for an elite clientele. The egg has been crafted from gold filigree — that is, gold wires interwoven to make a delicate lace-like pattern. The gold is arranged to form the image of a peacock, with a magnificent fanned train, composed of red, dark blue and green coloured plique-à-jour enamel. The light blue body of the peacock, and its long swirling light and dark blue tail feathers, have been crafted from intricate guilloché enamel, which is often found on Fabergé style eggs...
