About the Item

Fabergé "Polar Bear"-Egg Object, 18k Yellow Gold, Diamonds 0,17ct G VS The egg is made of 18k white gold covered with multiple layers of turquoise fire enamel. The egg is crowned with a facetted white topaz and adored with ice crystals of white gold. The opener is in form of an ice crystal and set with diamonds. When the egg is opened you can see a mother ice bear with two little bears of 18k white gold sitting on an ice floe of sardonyx. The pedestal is made of frosted rock crystal on a base of polished rock crystal with a golden feet. Background: Fabergé's animal figures were coveted collector's items. The source of inspiration for the polar bear egg was a well-known figure by Peter Carl Fabergé, a polar bear made of aventurine quartz. The cool clours and clear lights of the winter season are perfectly depicted through rock crystal and white topaz in combination with turquoise fire enamel and white gold. As such, VICTOR MAYER continued the tradition of the Fabergé workmaster for twenty years. Today, and while it no longer holds a worldwide exclusive license in respect of jewelry, VICTOR MAYER remains one of Fabergé’s valued and trusted suppliers of certain jewels. About vitreous enamel: The inimitably luminous colours are literally created "in the fire": layer by layer, enamel is carefully fired in at 800 degrees Celsius. During guilloching, the finest wave patterns are engraved into the gold, creating a unique depth effect. Vitreous means made of glass: the ancient technique is almost forgotten today and Victor Mayer is perhaps the last manufac-tory to master it at the highest level. Availability: This piece of jewelry is in our stock and can be shipped immediately. The Egg Object will be delivered with an original Fabergé box and certificates

Fabergé Style Bejewelled and Enamelled Gold Egg by Asprey
By Asprey International Limited, Garrard & Co. Ltd.
Located in London, GB
This exceptional, 18 carat gold Easter egg was crafted by the famous London-based royal jewellers, Asprey & Co. The piece was then retailed by Garrard & Co, who once worked in collaboration with Asprey, producing luxury jewellery and silver for an elite clientele. The egg has been crafted from gold filigree — that is, gold wires interwoven to make a delicate lace-like pattern. The gold is arranged to form the image of a peacock, with a magnificent fanned train, composed of red, dark blue and green coloured plique-à-jour enamel. The light blue body of the peacock, and its long swirling light and dark blue tail feathers, have been crafted from intricate guilloché enamel, which is often found on Fabergé style eggs...
