About the Item

Fabergé "Rose" - Egg Object , 18k Yellow Gold, Diamonds 4,355 ct GVS The 18k yellow gold egg is covered several times with translucent dark red fire enamel on a guilloché background. The egg is covered with a fine netting of gold wire set with diamonds, the base is hand-engraved. The egg is opened by a diamond-set garnet to reveal the roses made of 18k yellow gold. The roses are embaedded in a hand-plaited basket made of 18k gold. Each rose bud is meticulously handcrafted of pink tourmalines, the leaves are decorated with fine layers of translucent fire enamel. Background: The rose has always captured the imagination and will forever be an inspiration - as expressed with the famous lines by the poetess Gertrude Stein: " A rose, is a rose, is a rose." The Fabergé creation represents an exquisite, eternal epitome of this quotation. Reference: F2464/AR/00/12/102 Brand: Fabergé Workmaster: Victor Mayer Material: 750/- yellow gold (18k) Dimensions: Vitreous enamel: translucent aubergine red Diamonds: brilliant cut diamonds total 4.355ct, G VS Limited edition: 12/12 About the Fabergé workmaster VICTOR MAYER For two decades (1989 to 2009) the renowned German jewellery firm VICTOR MAYER was authorised to create exquisite Fabergé jewels and objects of art under worldwide exclusive licence. As such, VICTOR MAYER continued the tradition of the Fabergé workmaster for twenty years. Today, and while it no longer holds a worldwide exclusive license in respect of jewelry, VICTOR MAYER remains one of Fabergé’s valued and trusted suppliers of certain jewels. About vitreous enamel: The inimitably luminous colours are literally created "in the fire": layer by layer, enamel is carefully fired in at 800 degrees Celsius. During guilloching, the finest wave patterns are engraved into the gold, creating a unique depth effect. Vitreous means made of glass: the ancient technique is almost forgotten today and Victor Mayer is perhaps the last manufac-tory to master it at the highest level. Availability: This piece of jewelry is in our stock and can be shipped immediately. The Egg Object will be delivered with an original Fabergé box and certificate
