About the Item

Beauty and coquette Mirabelle! Royal Doulton`s Mirabel Figurine - a 1930s Classic! Introduced in 1935, Mirabel was not only a popular name of the 30s, but with Doulton’s figurine of the same name, she was a popular chine figure, too! Richly detailed and featuring Doulton’s famous attention to detail – so prevalent in this pre-war period- her success was assured. Typical of 1930s figures, Mirabel was issued in a blue colorway as HN 1743 (very rare) and a pink as HN 1944 (like our figurine). Both were in production from 1935 to a withdrawal date recorded as ‘by 1949’. As has been illustrated by the observations, Doulton’s pink ladies were contemporary favorites, with blue colorways much harder to track down, and Mirabel is no exception to this generalization, with HN 1743 proving much harder to track down. No matter what your color preference, Mirabel is a star personality in any collection due to her impressive size and detail! This early, lovely vintage porcelain figurine, Royal Doulton “Mirabel,” HN 1944, decorated in a pink colorway, was designed by leading Royal Doulton artist Leslie Harradine and was issued from 1935 to 1949. The size of the figurine is approximately 19.5 cm tall (7 ½ inches). This is a truly amazing figurine. The figurine would make a wonderful gift for your loved ones or a perfect addition to your collection. Unfortunately, the figurine has a thin hairline crack on the base (seen in the last photo). The figurine itself has no cracks or chips. We have factored this issue into our pricing, but we are open to discussing your offer.
