About the Item
Our charming regency period 15K ring consists of a faceted amethyst in a basket setting weighing approximately 1.20 carats set in a 15K gold band of an ourobouros, a snake biting its tail.
Since ancient times snakes have been seen as a symbol for “Eternal love” and "Eternal life" so they were and still are often used as wedding rings, commitment rings or engagement rings. Snake rings became popular in England when Queen Victoria received an emerald snake ring as her engagement ring from her beloved Prince Albert.
